2006 onwards

Windows software

Maxotek began with Pika Bot's first release in April 2006, and maxotek.net went up in July 2007 with shareware, freeware and games for Windows. Together they were downloaded over 61,000 times.

Maxotek's first product: a Yahoo! Messenger client that automated a whole session - private messages, public chat rooms, buddies and ignore lists, every smiley. Its CEVT engine of conditions, effects, variables and triggers let any event set off any response, built without code in its GUI Bot Maker or written directly in its Code Bot Maker. By 6.2 it ran many bots at once, and had experimental support for Skype.

Tried every combination of the characters you chose against a password-protected program, typing each one in as a person would. Version 3 split a password into blocks, each with its own characters - Feb13 as three letters, then two digits - so far fewer combinations needed trying. Jobs were set up in a six-step wizard, saved their progress as they ran, and in Ultimate stopped by themselves when a window showed the right password had gone in. From 3.1 it recovered ZIP passwords directly.

The Bomber Man

1st prize, Gameistaan - NIIT's national game championship, September 2008

A replica of the classic NES Bomber Man game: climb 50 floors of an underground labyrinth, clearing every enemy and finding the exit on each, with a power-up per floor for more bombs, longer blasts, a detonator or a flame pass, and bombs that set each other off. Written in C# and drawn entirely with GDI+, so it needed no DirectX, with its music and sound through irrKlang.

    Held the system volume at the level you chose on Windows Vista, through its then-new audio architecture: how fast it rose and fell, how far it could stray, and which levels to ignore, restoring the volume on exit. First released as MX Auto Volume Controller.

    Stop the watch as close as you can to 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 seconds, for a score out of 1000. The timer turned red near each checkpoint, its tick was tuned to within 3 milliseconds, and scores went up to an online top list.
